Firm Risk Management
Morgan Stanley’s Risk Management Division partners with our businesses across the Firm to realize efficient risk-adjusted returns while protecting the Firm’s capital base and franchise. Risk Management is critical to every aspect of Morgan Stanley’s business as well as influencing our culture. We advise businesses and clients on risk mitigating strategies, develop tools to analyze and monitor risks and lead key regulatory initiatives. Firm Risk Management functions are independent of the Firm’s Business Units and Infrastructure Functions, assisting Senior Management and the Firm Risk Committee in monitoring and managing risk through assessment and control processes.

Risk Technology
Firm Risk Management (FRM) Technology department is responsible for developing and overseeing the enterprise strategy and bespoke technology solutions to comply with international regulatory frameworks for calculating regulatory capital levels, enforcing risk governance, and providing comprehensive reporting and disclosure. The department is executing an ongoing program of work to extend the capabilities of the Firm Risk platform to meet both internal and external requirements. The clients include Risk Managers and Middle Office stake holders responsible for managing the Firm's Market, Credit, Operational and Liquidity risk.
Java / Scala Dev: We are looking for a senior developer working the server side / data domains of the Firm Market Risk technology stack. The Market Risk Fleet is executing on a multi-year critical regulatory initiatives. The position's focus is primarily in market risk risk factors infrastructure.
Primary Skills:
Core Java experience 12+ years
Strong database skills and ability to write fairly complex queries.
Exposure to designing a large-scale, real-time, business critical systems Secondary Skills
Exposure to Cloud Architecture
QUALIFICATIONS
Skill Set
Advanced understanding of Java including multi-threading, spring framework
Practical knowledge of databases, including data modelling and SQL interaction. Experience with KDB, MongoDB
Qualifications/Criterion
Bachelor’s Degree Experience(in years): 12+ years
