We are seeking a skilled and creative Video Editor to join our dynamic team. As a Video Editor, you will be responsible for assembling recorded footage into a finished project that aligns with the creative vision set forth by the team. Your ability to bring sight and sound together to tell a cohesive story is crucial to the success of our content. The ideal candidate will have exceptional technical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for storytelling. You will work on a variety of projects ranging from promotional videos to social media content, all while ensuring the highest quality of production standards. If you have a flair for visual storytelling and are adept at using editing software, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
Edit various forms of video content including advertisements, promotional social media and instructional videos.
Collaborate closely with producers, directors, and other team members to achieve the desired video outcome.
Trim footage segments and merge the sequences for delivering coherent and appealing audiovisuals.
Incorporate music, dialogue, graphics, and effects to enhance the footage engagingly.
Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry best practices.
Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running of video content for audience appeal.
Create and maintain an organized digital file management system for video project files.
Review shooting script and raw material to create a shot decision list based on scenes’ value.
Manage video projects efficiently, ensuring on-time delivery to clients or stakeholders.
Adjust format, brightness, contrast, volume, and other video attributes as needed.
Stay current on industry trends and changing technologies to remain competitive.
Receive and implement feedback from stakeholders to develop an improved final product.
Requirements
Proven work experience as a video editor with a strong portfolio.
Solid experience with digital technology and editing software such as Premiere or Final Cut.
Demonstrated video editing ability with creative storytelling skills.
Strong understanding of timing, motivation, and continuity in video editing.
Familiarity with special effects, 3D, and compositing techniques is beneficial.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work harmoniously in a creative team environment.
Bachelor’s degree in film studies, cinematography, or a related field is preferred.
