Job Description
We are seeking a talented and experienced Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed technical designs and plans for solar rooftop installations, ensuring all projects are executed efficiently and meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design and Planning:
- Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for solar rooftop systems using CAD software.
- Create electrical schematics, structural layouts, and system configurations.
- Conduct site assessments and surveys to gather necessary data for design.
2. Technical Analysis:
- Perform shading analysis, energy yield calculations, and system performance simulations.
- Evaluate and select appropriate components, including solar panels, inverters, and mounting systems.
3. Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Prepare documentation for permit applications and utility interconnections.
4. Collaboration:
- Work closely with sales, project management, and installation teams to ensure designs are practical and feasible.
- Provide technical support and guidance to field engineers and installation crews.
5. Quality Assurance:
- Conduct quality checks on completed designs to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Continuously update and improve design standards and processes.
Qualifications
1. Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
2. Experience:
- Minimum of 1+ years of experience in designing solar PV systems, particularly rooftop installations.
- Proficiency in using design software such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, and Helioscope.
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC, NABCEP).
3. Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
