Job Description
A video editor's job is to take raw footage and turn it into a final product that meets the client's or director's vision. Some of their responsibilities include:
- Reviewing footage: Selecting shots and clips to tell a story, and removing unusable footage
- Assembling footage: Transferring footage to a computer, and organizing it into a sequence
- Editing: Using editing software to arrange and manipulate the footage, and add effects like sound, music, graphics, and transitions
- Creating a rough cut: Putting together a rough cut of the video, and determining the next steps
- Presenting the final product: Presenting the final cut to the director or client, and making changes based on their feedback
Other responsibilities of a video editor may include:
- Working to a brief, script, or screenplay
- Improving picture quality
- Creating DVDs or formatting footage for online viewing
- Ensuring videos meet the marketing team's specifications
- Implementing creative notes from stakeholders
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
