Develop and execute creative concepts for video projects that align with the state's messaging and objectives.
Manage all aspects of video production, from pre-production planning to post-production editing and delivery.
Collaborate with various teams and stakeholders to ensure videos are produced on time and within budget.
Conduct thorough research and gather all necessary materials for each video project.
Operate and maintain video equipment, including cameras, lighting, and sound equipment.
Edit and enhance raw footage to create high-quality and engaging videos.
Ensure videos are in line with brand guidelines and maintain consistency across all projects.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and techniques to continuously improve video quality and storytelling.
Handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks to meet tight deadlines.
Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and vendors to ensure project objectives are met.
Monitor video performance and make recommendations for improvements.
Collaborate with other team members to brainstorm new and innovative ideas for video content.
Assist with video shoots, including setting up equipment and directing talent.
Maintain organized files and archives of video projects.
Represent the state of New York in a professional manner through all video content.

We are seeking a skilled YouTube video editor who can replicate editing styles similar to:

Police Activity

Midwest Safety

These are the two main styles we’ll be working with. The work isn’t overly complex, but attention to detail, pacing, and audience retention are critical. You’ll be responsible for editing raw footage (often police bodycam, 911 calls, or crime-related clips) into engaging videos that match the style of the reference channels.

Responsibilities:

Edit raw footage into polished YouTube-ready videos.

Follow the specific style and pacing of the above reference channels.

Add clean text overlays, timestamp displays, and simple transitions when needed.

Sync footage with narration where required.

Deliver videos on time with high consistency.

Requirements:

Proven experience editing for YouTube (please share examples).

Ability to closely replicate styles shown in the reference channels.

Strong sense of pacing, retention, and storytelling through editing.

Organized, responsive, and able to meet deadlines.

Basic understanding of YouTube formatting (aspect ratios, resolution, export settings).
