Job Description

Location: This role is an in-person hybrid role in Frederick, MD. It is for local applicants only.

About Precision

Precision is a software company that helps the world's entrepreneurs know their numbers so they can build the companies they deserve. We consider ourselves a software AND a service business where we provide world-class onboarding and coaching services to our clients in addition to proprietary scorecard software that helps businesses really understand their data.

About the Role

We’re looking for a driver - someone who shows up with a camera and builds momentum. This role isn’t for someone who waits for direction. It’s for someone who sees the story, captures the moment, and moves fast. You will shoot and edit content, own the entire media pipeline end-to-end, and help build a world-class content engine around our CEO.

You bring the storytelling instincts, the hunger, the pace, and the operational discipline. We’ll give you access, resources, and a front-row seat to rapid growth. If you’re early in your career but you move like an outlier, you’ll thrive here.

You’ll be working directly with our Founder & CEO, Matt Verlaque - a former firefighter turned SaaS entrepreneur who built his first company from $0 to an 8-figure exit and now leads Precision. Matt creates content viewed by thousands of founders each week and collaborates with some of the best operators, storytellers, and creative minds in the industry.

This is a role for someone hungry, dependable, and serious about leveling up. You’ll have direct exposure to Matt’s network of world-class creatives and operators, along with the opportunity to learn the craft at a pace most people never experience. If you want to build your skills fast, take ownership, and be part of something growing, this is the kind of role that can change your trajectory. A rare opportunity to build something from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

You will own the entire media operation from capture to final delivery - shooting, editing, organizing, preparing assets, and maintaining momentum across all content initiatives.

Content Capture

Film CEO content days, client visits, events, travel, conversations, and behind-the-scenes moments.
Consistently look for opportunities to capture high quality, intentional, story-driven footage & b-roll.
Understand the story we are telling and capture footage that supports it.
Tech & Setup

Prepare and manage all camera, lighting, audio, recording equipment, and software before each shoot.
Ensure batteries are charged, memory is cleared, mics are working, and backups exist.
Maintain organized storage of footage and ensure everything is properly labeled and accessible.
Troubleshoot issues quickly and proactively - no delays, surprises, or downtime.
Maintain organized storage of footage and ensure everything is properly labeled and accessible.
Editing & Assembly

Edit short-form and long-form content with speed and strong storytelling instincts.
Assemble b-roll sequences, pull selects, create rough cuts, and complete simple edits internally.
Prepare organized, labeled, ready-to-edit footage packages for our remote creative team.
Use creative judgment to shape moments into compelling stories, not just clips.
Speed, Organization & Reliability

Meet SLAs for delivering both raw footage and completed edits
consistent, predictable turnaround times.
Maintain a clean, searchable media library where nothing is lost, buried, or delayed.
Keep momentum: when content needs to move, you move.
Operate with urgency and ownership - you control the pace of the media operation.
Travel & Event Support

Travel with the CEO for speaking events and offsite shoots.
Capture in-the-moment footage and assemble quick-turnaround assets after travel.
Handle on-site equipment, setup, lighting, audio, and coordination.
Collaboration

Work closely with the CEO and remote creative team to align on story, goals, and weekly content priorities.
Bring ideas to the table - shot lists, narratives, creative angles, new concepts.
Act as a reliable partner who keeps production moving and ensures nothing falls through the cracks.
Success Metrics

Within your first 30 days, you will:

Produce real, usable content: edited clips, short-form cuts, B-roll sequences, vlogs, or rough cuts that show your storytelling instincts and your ability to move fast.
Shoot consistently: daily or near-daily footage captured with intention.
Own the media pipeline: nothing lost, nothing delayed, nothing forgotten. Footage labeled, organized, delivered, and moving.
Demonstrate urgency and reliability: when something needs to be filmed, captured, edited, or sent, you make it happen without bottlenecks or reminders.
Integrate quickly with the CEO and remote creative team, showing that you can prep the environment, set up equipment, and support content days without hand-holding.
Capture moments proactively: not just the assignments, but the story we're telling.
Establish predictable SLAs for both raw footage and simple creative outputs.
Show that your pace, standards, and instincts fit a high-performance environment.
If you’re the right person, we’ll know it fast - your results will make it obvious. If you need constant direction or slow timelines, this won’t be the place.

Ideal Candidate

You thrive in environments where speed, creativity, and accountability matter. You don’t wait to be told what to do. You don’t need someone checking your work. You’re the one people rely on because you show up prepared, you move with intention, and you care about the details.

You’re a fit if you are:

A natural storyteller with a camera: you see moments, angles, narratives, and opportunities before anyone asks.
A shooter and an editor: comfortable capturing footage and turning it into something meaningful.
Process-driven without being rigid: organized enough to keep chaos out of the pipeline, flexible enough to move when things change.
Proactive to your core: you anticipate needs, prep before anyone asks, and stay five steps ahead.
Hungry to grow: you want to master your craft, build something long-term, and take pride in doing great work.
Calm under pressure: fast-moving situations don’t throw you. You adapt, troubleshoot, and keep things moving.
Self-accountable: you don’t hide behind excuses, slow timelines, or unclear direction. You take ownership.
A momentum-builder: the kind of person whose presence increases the pace, the quality, and the energy of the room.
Experience and Qualifications

Required:

Must be located in or near Frederick, Maryland (in-person role).
Experience shooting and editing video content - it can be professional, freelance, or portfolio-based, but you must be able to show work.
Ability to operate cameras, lenses, lighting, and basic audio equipment confidently.
Comfortable editing short-form and long-form content in tools like Premiere, Final Cut, DaVinci, or CapCut.
Strong organizational skills: file management, labeling, storage, backups.
Ability to move fast without sacrificing quality - predictable SLAs, reliable turnaround, no disappearing assets.
Comfortable troubleshooting technical issues on set or during shoots.
Ability to travel for select events and shoots (expenses covered).
Preferred:

Experience creating content for social platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram Reels).
Experience capturing story-driven footage: interviews, event coverage, behind-the-scenes, narrative-style b-roll.
Experience working in fast-moving environments or with founders/creators.
Ability to bring creative ideas, shot lists, and narratives to the table.
A portfolio that demonstrates both shooting and editing ability.
Comfort working alongside a remote editing or creative team.
