About Us:
D & J Estate Pty Ltd is an agribusiness and labour hire provider specialising in workforce solutions for the horticulture and viticulture industries across South Australia.
The Company partners with vineyard operators, farmers, and agricultural enterprises to deliver labour services across activities, including pruning, harvesting, crop maintenance, and general farm operations. Workforce teams are deployed across multiple sites to meet seasonal and operational demands.
As part of our continued business growth and transition towards a larger directly employed workforce model, we are seeking a senior operational leader to support expanding service delivery requirements.
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Vineyard Manager (Operations) to oversee vineyard and horticultural operations and coordinate workforce deployment across multiple sites.
The position plays a critical role in overseeing large-scale workforce operations and ensuring consistent service delivery across multiple client sites.
This is a senior role responsible for managing daily operations, supervising teams, and ensuring efficient delivery of services across both company-managed and client locations.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and oversee vineyard-focused and horticultural operations across multiple sites
Manage workforce allocation, including supervisors, workers, and subcontract labour teams
Monitor productivity, operational performance, and service delivery standards
Supervise Vineyard and Horticultural Supervisors and provide operational leadership
Coordinate vineyard activities including pruning, canopy management, irrigation, and harvesting
Liaise with clients to determine labour requirements and ensure service expectations are met
Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements
Prepare operational reports and coordinate workforce scheduling
Requirements:
Relevant qualification in Agriculture, Horticulture, Viticulture or related field (or equivalent experience)
Minimum 3 years’ experience in vineyard or agricultural operations, including supervisory responsibilities
Demonstrated experience managing workforce teams in labour-intensive environments
Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
Sound understanding of vineyard operations and/or horticultural production
Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
