Responsibilities

In this role, you will report to the Operations Specialist Manager and will work closely with the Avantor’s Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science

Perform all duties associated with operations of Site Services

Lead and coordinate the team's efforts to perform tasks related to fulfilling customer requirements

Work closely with management to complete projects such as Standard Operating Procedures, Scopes of Work, Standard Work, On-The-Job Training, and other assorted tasks along with direct customer interfacing relative to job functions

Interface directly with customer Point-of-Contact, purchasing directors, facility directors and plant managers etc

to procure lab supplies and material

Utilize Avantor and customer computer systems: SAP, Inventory Manager, Chemical Manager and/or other customer specific applications

Train Avantor Lab and Production Services associates on all service offerings

Provide SAP Support (Full customer services, credit rebills, invoice scrubbing)

Modify and maintain quality metrics and key performance indicators

Manage a budget related to expense reports

Meet revenue, TOE, safety, performance and quality goals and objectives

Create programs for enhanced service efficiencies

Perform other duties as assigned

The Service Operations Specialist supports multiple facilities and/or customers in a strategic geographic area and may perform the job functions of Inventory Coordinators, Inventory Technicians, Material Handlers, Glass Washers when scheduled vacations, leave and /or emergency situations occur

The Coverage Specialist responsibilities are within a designated territory, although secondary back up responsibility requires travel outside the designated territory

It brings new patient treatments and therapies to market, giving a cancer survivor the chance to walk his daughter down the aisle

It enables medical devices that help a little boy hear his mom's voice for the first time

What we’re looking for

• A high school diploma or GED is required for this position, but having an Associate's degree or undergraduate degree in a business or science-related field would be a plus.

• 3-5+ years of experience in inventory control, procurement, shipping and receiving, or inside sales is preferred.

• Certifications such as IATA, DOT, OSHA Right to Know, IMDG, Forklift, and Hazwoper are also a plus.

• A valid driver's license and transportation are required.

• Experience with VWR/Avantor products and services, as well as cross-referencing and inside sales, is preferred.

• The candidate must be able to travel outside California up to 25% of the time.
