Mō te tūranga: About the role
Our Visitor Advisors welcome all visitors to Te Nukuao Wellington Zoo, ensuring that visitors are set up to have a fantastic visit at the Zoo, helping to create excitement for the visit, and providing visitors with information they need to have a great time. They are the welcoming face of the Zoo. Our Visitor Advisors also farewell guests after their visit and reinforce the Zoo’s value of manaakitanga.
Our Visitor Advisors professionally and expertly promote and sell our Zoo products including Close Encounters, Zoo Venues, Zoo Crew memberships and retail products; and manage the bookings and sales process for these products including online and on the phone. You may also be asked if you’d like to help with the occasional evening event during the week.
As this is an active role, you will be on your feet all day, thriving on the variety the role will bring.

Direct customer service experience
Comfortable selling product and services
Known to have a friendly and approachable attitude
A quick learner and a confident problem-solver
Level-headed and calm under pressure
A natural at communicating in person, over the phone and with via email
Takes a team player approach
Self- motivated with a focus on getting things done well
Computer literate and savvy with learning new technology
