The Role

The VMC Machinist is responsible for producing machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a vertical machine center (VMC); maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.

This is a full-time position on the afternoon shift.

Day Shift:

Monday - Thursday: 6:00AM - 3:30PM

Friday: 6:00AM - 2:00PM

Afternoon Shift:

Monday - Thursday: 3:30PM - 12:30AM

Friday: 2:00PM - 10:00PM

Responsibilities

Plan machining using work orders, blueprints, plans, materials, GD&T

Edit programs and set up mills

Maintain specifications

Detect malfunctions, troubleshoot, adjust, and reprogram controls

Maintain work area and machine cleanliness

Requirements

High School diploma with some technical training as a machinist

Minimum 2 years of experience in operating CNC Milling Machines with Fanuc Controls

Experience with Mastercam

Experience machining die parts is an asset

Knowledge of machining D2, 4140HTSR, M2 Aluminum, etc.

Ability to machine die parts with very close tolerance

Ability to set up and operate two machines at a time

Ability to read mechanical engineering drawings

Ability to use precision measuring tools

Ability to work with minimum supervision

Strong Math abilities, including excellent knowledge of fraction principles

Good interpersonal skills and organizational skills

Forklift and Crane certifications are an asset
