This individual will play a pivotal role in developing innovative and effective solutions for our DoD customers within the IC sector
The Voice Engineer - Expert will be responsible for supporting and maintaining telephony systems, troubleshooting critical issues, and optimizing routing with Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) providers
This role requires in-depth experience with Lucent Class 5 Electronic Switching Systems (5ESS) and associated protocols to ensure seamless communication within the organization
Support and maintain existing Lucent Class 5 Electronic Switching System (5ESS) Computerized Telephony System (CTS) installations
Modify, add, and remove PRI TDM trunking on 5ESS systems
Modify on-net and off-net call routing within the 5ESS environment
Troubleshoot Signal System 7 (SS7) connectivity to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN)
Perform de-grow procedures to remove Remote Service Modules (RSM)
Troubleshoot TDM PRI and SS7 connectivity issues
Collaborate with PSTN service providers to troubleshoot routing issues

Role Overview

The Voice Engineer - Expert will be responsible for supporting and maintaining telephony systems, troubleshooting critical issues, and optimizing routing with Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) providers. This role requires in-depth experience with Lucent Class 5 Electronic Switching Systems (5ESS) and associated protocols to ensure seamless communication within the organization.

Primary Duties
• Support and maintain existing Lucent Class 5 Electronic Switching System (5ESS) Computerized Telephony System (CTS) installations.
• Modify, add, and remove PRI TDM trunking on 5ESS systems.
• Modify on-net and off-net call routing within the 5ESS environment.
• Troubleshoot Signal System 7 (SS7) connectivity to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN).
• Perform de-grow procedures to remove Remote Service Modules (RSM).
• Troubleshoot TDM PRI and SS7 connectivity issues.
• Collaborate with PSTN service providers to troubleshoot routing issues.

Required Qualifications
• A minimum of 11 years of relevant experience.

• Proficiency in troubleshooting TDM PRI, SS7, and routing with PSTN service provider

Desired Qualifications
• Experience with Linux.
• Knowledge of SIP signaling and call flows, Secure Real-Time Transport Protocol (SRTP), and TCP/IP.
• Familiarity with additional protocols such as H.323, DNS, DHCP, and RTP.

Certifications
