Compensation: 15000/- Month
The Akanksha Foundation is a non-profit organization with the mission “to build one of the most innovative school networks that empowers children from low income communities to maximize their potential”. Akanksha currently serves 13,000 children and 4600 alumni, through its 26 schools in Pune, Mumbai & Nagpur Metropolitan Regions in partnership with the municipalities.
Overview of the Team: As an extension of the HR team, the Volunteer Program team is responsible for recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers to ensure they are aligned with Akanksha's mission and values. They work to ensure that volunteers have a positive and meaningful experience while contributing their skills and time to support Akanksha's programs and initiatives. In addition, the Volunteer Program team collaborates with other departments to identify areas where volunteers can provide valuable support, and they continually seek to improve the volunteer experience and engagement.
Position Responsibilities:
Scheduling and Coordination: (15% of the time)
• Screen and shortlist new volunteer applications at the initial stage.
• Schedule and make phone calls to the shortlisted applicants to probe their compatibility in detail
• Schedule calls with volunteer coordinators to resolve queries
• Follow up with volunteers to complete pending actions like documentation and orientation
Orientation and Training: (20% of the time)
• Schedule volunteer orientations and facilitate orientation sessions to ensure active engagement.
Check-In and Pulse Check: (30% of the time)
• Support the program by scheduling fortnightly check-ins, FGDs, and collecting timely feedback
Record-Keeping: (15% of the time)
• Maintain data hygiene and ensure that volunteers track their progress regularly
Recognition, Celebration and Certification: (20% of the time)
• Organize celebratory spaces for volunteers to celebrate their achievements and success
• Drive active engagement of volunteers
Reports to: Assistant Manager- Volunteer program.
What you need for this Position:
• Communication Skills: The candidate should possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with volunteers and coordinators.
• Attention to Detail: The candidate must have a keen eye for detail to ensure data accuracy, complete documentation, and track progress.
• Organizational Skills: The candidate should possess strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, schedules, and maintain records.
• Interpersonal Skills: The candidate should have strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with volunteers, staff, and stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving Skills: The candidate should be able to think critically and find creative solutions to problems that may arise.
• Familiarity with Volunteer Programs: Having prior experience working with volunteers and familiarity with volunteer programs is a plus.
• Computer Skills: The candidate should be proficient in using Google Suite including Excel, Google Sheet.
• Education: A bachelor's degree in any discipline. Experience working in volunteer management or a related field is also preferred.
