The Role Responsibilities
Job Purpose
• Drive a performance management framework, linking Cost to drivers / non-financial KPIs, driving cost efficiency and investment capacity.
• Designing and publishing insightful Cost MI that helps the business to accurately manage and forecast and deliver the cost agenda.
• Focus on Global Product, Sub-Segments, Regions and Countries for Cost agenda input into RoTE by businesses.
• Create a 5-year Cost strategy agenda aligned with Business RoTE, delivered in the 5-year Corporate Plan.
• Build strong partnerships with stakeholders, with excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
This role is responsible for providing Finance performance management, analytics, reporting and controllership, for Cost.
• Supporting CCIB CFOs / COOs / HR Heads in relation to Cost performance management. With a focus on Cost, BAU items, Strategic Initiatives, Investment Spend and Productivity delivery. Managing cost and headcount, articulating performance with non-financial KPIs and accurate forecasting. Focus on Qtly IMS management and reporting. Managing YoY and Budgeted performance deltas.
• Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of performance management reporting. Actual performance, monthly outlook, accurate FY outlook forecast, commentaries, Cost / FTE scorecard tracking, strategic initiative support for both hires and projects (Opex / Capex) and drive process simplification, accuracy, timeliness, and automation.
• Deliver insightful and actionable Analytics. Covering efficiency, cost investment opportunities, returns as well as identifying and articulating key risks to senior management to drive decision making.
• Drive the successful delivery of the business 5-year Corporate Plan. Clearly defining the cost strategy and financial modelling of this, linking income, cost avoidance with investments.
• Work with CCIB Regional and Country Finance to convey and deliver the CCIB Cost agenda. Ensuring consistent messaging and actions.
• Ideate opportunities that will lead to hard dollar cost saves within the business and help meet and/or deliver forecasts below budget.
• Challenge business on incremental cost asks with comfort on level of detail that support overall business objectives to justify spend.

Our Ideal Candidate
• Bachelor's degree qualified with at least 10 years of relevant experience in large multinational companies, preferably in the financial services sector
• 10 years of relevant experience in large multinational companies in the financial services sector, preferably supporting Cost management.
• Solid interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop strong stakeholder relationships, anticipate business requirements, manage demand and delivery, keeping business heads informed.
• Commercial acumen and understanding of Financial Services specific to Banking. Banking product knowledge is preferable - Coverage, Financial Markets, Transaction Banking.
• Knowledge of unit costing, Product / Segment / Geographical cost management, with equitable allocations.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to present relevant analysis concisely and confidently.
• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to navigate and analyse large data sets.
• Experience in operating within large virtual teams across locations.
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Relevant accounting qualification (such as CIMA / ACCA)
