We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of VP – Financial Reporting
Principal responsibilities:
• The incumbent will be responsible for leading the Financial Reporting process for HBCE at GFOC. The role will be a key support to the Financial reporting lead, HBCE and Head of Financial Reporting, HBEU in managing the delivery as well as various transformation projects and ensuring the right control framework for HBCE Financial reporting team. The process covers the entire ambit of Consolidation, Analytical Reviews, Group Submissions and also managing the WDESK production for the Interim/Annual Report.
• Ensuring Monthly and quarterly reporting are completed as per agreed timelines and with right quality.
• Review of key FR deliverables to ensure appropriate inputs and processes are in place.
• Review of accounting and reporting issues and their impact to processes, controls.
• Ensuring robust analytical reviews and controls on the Financial Reporting outputs.
• Own the HBCE Reporting issues log and drive the issues closure with Financial Accounting, Product Control and regional FR teams.
• Lead the sign-off meetings with Senior stakeholders including CAO and CFO.
• Topical deep dives to assess impact of structural and accounting changes within HBCE and incorporate same into FR Delivery.
• Support the Reporting leads in the various Transformation projects, ensuring milestones are delivered.
• Preparing papers and proposals for review with HBCE Financial Controller.
• Interface for regional stakeholders and HBCE sites on queries and alignment of issues impacting HBFR's consolidated results and external documents.
• People leadership responsibilities- drive the HSBC work culture and values, build talent.
• Interface with external, internal auditors and data assurance (BRCM)
• Ensure a robust control environment through controls and design efficacy of CMPs.
• HBCE Consolidated Results delivery.
• FR specific projects-especially IFRS guidance to be assimilated into HBFR FR processes
• Topical deep dives to assess impact of structural and accounting changes within HBFR and incorporate same into FR Delivery
• Summarize and frontend issues- communication, impact, resolution with Senior stakeholders ( CAO/ GPO/ FR Leads)
