Today, the GAC team generates value across the group through a wide variety of data and analytic solutions and related business consulting. GAC has become a one-stop shop for the group's analytic needs leading the integration of analytics and data-driven decisions not only in traditional areas such as Risk, Retail, Wholesale, Private & Commercial Banking but also in new domains such as Regulatory, Operations, Procurement, Human Resources, and Financial Crime Risk. It provides support to various business groups and the job involves data analysis, model and strategy development & implementation, Business Intelligence, reporting and data management.

The Opportunity:

There are primarily four job families in GAC: Decision Sciences, Information Management, Business Consulting and MI Reporting. This role applies to the Information Management job family within the Analytics function supporting various businesses and functions

Global Business/Global Function - Sub-Function Fraud & Credit Services (FCS) is a first line of defence control function in WPB, with the core purpose of supporting the entire customer credit journey and creating sustainable outcomes for the Customer and the Bank.

GAC Fraud & Credit Decision Systems under WPB Credit Control Services is mainly responsible for the delivery and support of the Credit & Fraud risk management tools, systems and data across HSBC. The team also serves as a Decision Engine Centre of Excellence for multiple Account Originations/Management and Fraud Risk systems and supporting the Credit Bureau Management. We facilitate the deployment of account originations and management strategies through the FIM approved decision engine. The team would need to interface heavily between the Information Technology team and the end users.

The core functions include strategy deployment, data validations, process improvement, system documentation, providing consulting, guidance and delivering comprehensive risk management platforms to support risk management intelligence, analytics, MI generation, and ETL along with data management.

What you'll do:

Information Management job family is designed to cater towards all the data needs of business. It covers sourcing of data and building structured data lakes, designing data marts generating Business Insights and hosting data in Cloud. Key responsibilities also include but not limited to: creation of a robust data foundation and continuous update of these datasets, to support Analysis and reporting, identify opportunities for data monetization, leverage BI and Visualization tools to deliver key business insights and develop self-serve BI solutions to empower the business to make informed decisions. The team members embed agile delivery methodologies to continuously keep refining the data models using new and emerging techniques. This team also acts as a bridge between IT and the business stakeholders.

This role is expected to develop and manage a delivery unit, across firmly established service offerings - Business intelligence and advance visualization, Data Management & Infrastructure and Analysis/Consulting. The role also involves adopting standard practices across the vertical and reduce cost within Global Functions, Global Businesses and Regions by improving efficiencies using standard processes and common toolsets.
• The role holder needs to manage one or more clients from regions having different time zones, regulatory environment, and maturity of business, data and systems.
• Given the highly competitive nature of Analytics industry, building capability and retaining talent is a key focus area.
• There are multiple teams supporting different aspects analytics for the same larger business problems. The job holder needs to drive collaborations and synergies to integrate the analytics solutions for the business.
• The incumbent of this role is expected to surmise the business priority and enable the effective delivery of projects and analysis.
• Lead a unit of 5-25 people strong, within the function (Across regions/across products).
• The role holder shall also be expected to lead a team within the function; guide and lead AVPs / Sr. Managers / Managers, from a functional & administrative perspective and help them build up a strong business understanding.
• Expected to own and deliver on data and analytics support while working in a matrix structure involving multiple business partners and decision makers. Drive the advanced data and analytics agenda of the function for the region/ portfolio supported.
• Deliver on GAC responsibilities / intra functional responsibilities in alignment with other verticals.
• Develop a consulting culture within team that seeks out opportunities to expand & deepen relationships with existing clients and acquiring new ones

Operational Effectiveness & Control Routinely uses management information to monitor and enhance business, projects and system accesses, enforcement of compliance & business policies and people performance Continuously review key risks and proactively institute controls in place to address the same. Support and execute cost improvement strategies. Leadership & Teamwork Sees the 'bigger picture' and assesses relationships between recommended analytical solutions / projects and business performance. Makes decisions, even with ambiguous /incomplete data at a pace that balances the need for further analysis and the need for timely decision given business pressures / requirements. Job Description:
• Global WPB Collection Transformation Project Managers plan, mobilize and direct change projects of varying complexity from inception to closure. They are responsible for leading and managing large scale change projects across a wider range of geographies and time zones.
• They act as a role model, demonstrating active leadership and clearly communicating to a wide range of stakeholders.
• Project Managers are responsible for the adherence of the Bank's agreed transformation methodologies within their project and instilling good project disciplines.
• The role holder has end to end responsibility for all aspects of the project, including defining and planning, mobilisation and execution and delivering benefits realisation against key business outcomes.
• They work closely with the Project Management Office to ensure alignment of their projects with the wider change portfolio and Group Strategy, Business Outcomes, Values and Behaviours.
• Project Managers will often play a people / team management role within the projects / programmes they work on, they may also have line or functional management responsibilities. Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

Eligibility Criteria -
• Min. 12+ Year of relevant experience. Bachelor's or Master's degree from reputed university with specialization in numerical discipline and concentration in computer science, information systems or other suitable specialisms.
• At least 10+ years of Business Experience focused primarily in the Financial Services – Lending and Collection domain.
• Experience in running Global Offshore R&A team and a proven track record in establishing a high performance and efficient Data & Information Management unit.
• Strong analytical skills with business analysis aptitude.
• Experience with a Consulting organization and practices and Program/Project Management
• Ability to comprehend intricate and diverse range of business problems and analyse them with limited or complex data and provide a feasible solution framework. Experience on working on Data/Information Management projects of varying complexities.
• Experience with Agile/iterative process in the context of project tracking and reporting. Exposure to JIRA/Confluence for project management activity
• Enthusiasm for proactively seeking, exploring and developing use cases for new data and/or tools/wider industry trends
• Client/Account Management experience and/or P&L Management Experience is a plus
• Experience in delivering solutions on cloud is a plus
• Proven ability to work across markets whilst maintaining a global perspective
• Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders and business sponsors
• Strong people and team management experience
• Proven implementation, change management and benefits realization experience

Functional requirements –
• Strong understanding of collection typologies.
• Excellent understanding of Change Frameworks and Agile methodologies
• A thorough understanding of the purpose, values, culture and fundamentals of Transformation
• Very strong knowledge of the external environment – regulatory, political, competitors etc.
• Proven experience in Project managing and delivering either of GCP, Collection, Digital and IT change initiatives
• Evidence the delivery of large scale complex programmes at pace, developing high performing interchanging teams to support delivery at each stage
• Large scale IT re-platforming, including exposure to functional and non-functional requirements gathering and business and technology architecture solution design.
• Experience in documentation of business requirement documents, Environment testing SIT document, User on-boarding documents etc.
• Ensure the technical requirements tie back to the established customer goals and strategy with right solution delivery in alignment of various technology teams
• Ability to transition designs to engineers/developers, ensuring a clear and complete understanding of the designs implementation.
• Proven ability to create the complete execution roadmap & delivery activity based plan to track the milestones progress through regular scrums cadence.
• Ability to drive the testing and validations against various test case scenarios as part of Unit test, System integration test, Performance test etc.
• Demonstration of providing cohesive support to IT functions in build and release process.
• Outstanding understanding of HSBC Group structures, processes and objectives
• Strong understanding of banking / HSBC and of how change drives benefits for HSBC, its customers and other stakeholders

Soft Skills requirements –
• Written and verbal communication skills. Ability to develop and effectively communicate complex concepts and ideas
• Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and develop end to end solutions.
• Collaborate with partners across business groups, evaluate emerging techniques that may contribute to existing analytical capabilities and computational models

• Maintain the level of communication/interaction across the team and direct manager including onshore business partners
• Strong analytical skills with business analysis aptitude. Knowledge and understanding of financial-services/ banking-operations is advantageous.

• The role requires managing program delivery for US/Canada/MX and role holder is expected to align his/her work schedule to allow for overlap with business users in these geographies.
• SAFe/ SAFe / Agile Certification or similar – (Desirable)
