Hybrid Working

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We're flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances These requests will be reviewed and agreed for a period of time , will have a start and end date.

Introduction:

The role holder is expected to continue to manage Investment Operations, Trust Operations and Portfolio Management services for PB India.

The role requires comprehensive understanding of the regulatory environment, framework and operational concepts & principles which govern the Pvt. Bank business in India. Supervisory responsibility of implementation of the right set of procedures and practices benchmarked to the highest level of global standards, maintaining sound risk management; delivering great customer service whilst ensuring that control measures are effective. The role will be focused on building increased efficiency and effectiveness across the existing operating platform to deliver outstanding customer and colleague centric journey.

What will you be doing?

• The role requires a detailed and comprehensive understanding of SEBI (primary regulator) guidelines and Operational concepts for the following licences;
o Portfolio Management Services (PMS)
o Mutual Funds Distributions (AMFI)
o Depository regulations/ guidelines (SEBI Depository Act 1996)
o Investment Advisory (SEBI IA regulation)
o Broking Operations

• The incumbent is reflecting a clear understanding of the investment guidelines for various categories of clients:
o Individuals; Non Individuals; Trusts / Hindu Undivided Families and Non-resident Indians

• Independently liaison with multiple other regulators and SEBI approved agencies including Custodians and Regulators.
o Stock exchanges (NSE & BSE)
 For various settlement matters and reporting's.
 Mutual fund processing perspective
o Stock Holding Corporation of India (SHCIL) custodian for PMS operations
o Depository (NSDL) for smooth functioning of the Depository services
o Central KYC Agencies (NDML & CKYC) for smooth client KYC registrations
o SEBI / Exchange empanelled auditors and their reviews conducted for the licenses held in BSIPL

• To ensure delivery of processes and its resources lead interactions with other functions to achieve the defined functional strategic objectives. Expected to ideate, lead and deliver solutions on Process improvement and eliminating recurring issues

• Expected to lead and seamlessly collaborate with Business Delivery, Product office and Tech team to design Ops processes to deliver strategic Pvt Bank objectives

• Support India Ops Head in ideation and delivery of Ops projects, focused on efficiency and automations

• Comprehensive understanding of sub functions like Fiduciary Risk, Business Risk, Compliance, Client on boarding including how each process and resource interacts; to achieve the strategic business objective in a timeline manner

• An in depth understanding and working knowledge of the Client Money and Assets protection requirements and its controls prescribed by local regulators and Global best practices.

• The role is expected to establish collaborative working with local & regional stakeholders, playing a leadership role by providing updates on developments, issues and consult on support matters for the India franchise

• Supervise the day to day operations of the larger team, specifically with respect to delivery of actionable on Investment and Trust Operations area adhering to 100% statutory compliance

• Regular review with Ops rigour team to implement strong process controls, timely completion of all required submissions to CCO and run periodic snap checks in the Ops areas

• The role is expected to deliver seamless BAU performance by adhering to the SLA and operational guidelines issued by local regulators to avoid any breach or audit observations.

• Reconciliations on the platform are performed on daily basis and breaks are reported appropriately to stake holders and represented in control forums

• Monitor and improve productivity of the team & Organize workflow/set priorities/monitor activity/ensure timely completion of work

• The role holder will ensure innovative as well as effective solutions for the platform and driving better client experience by collaborating with various stake holders, internal and external, like Fund Houses, Brokers, Tax Advisors, Custodian etc. (where required either on his own or through an internal or external stake holder)

The role holder is required to have an up-to-date and in-depth understanding of all Indian security market products, Trust & Fiduciary services and client reporting attributes.

The role holder should have strong leadership and team management skills. The successful candidate should have the ability to motivate and lead a high performing team. With a clear focus on continuous team improvement and a strong desire to deliver better client experience and support to business.

The role holder should demonstrate experience in driving cultural changes and holds a good understanding of business and commercial awareness.

Academic and professional qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Business administration or related field.

• Relevant SEBI/RBI certifications for the role

• Strong communication, inter-personal, public speaking and leadership skills.
