The Opportunity:
Role is part of a specialist team focusing on performance and reward operational, advisory and service management support for the Group.
What you’ll do:
• Management of activities originating from the P&R services team including tier 2 & 3 P&R advisory support, operational delivery of key projects or processes, such as the year end performance and pay review, market data matching and buy-outs, P&R service management and various reporting requests
• Partner with colleagues locally and globally to ensure streamlined and consistent delivery of P&R services across country, region, global lines of business /functions and Group
• Look to drive a culture of continuous improvement through expansion, service automation and robotics to drive improved efficiency in delivery each year
• Direct management of the team, ensuring appropriate levels of resourcing and service is delivered within agreed timescales and to required level of quality / standards
• Drive cultural change to bring out the continuous improvement ethos, and customer centric approach to delivery.
• Promote a positive work culture, inspire confidence in the team, enthusiasm and commitment.
• Promote the value of challenging the status quo, seeking to improve ways of working and having a forward-thinking mind-set, in line with HSBC’s Values and Strategy.
• Exhibit ownership of own and team’s work and ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
• Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points
Requirements
What you will need to succeed in the role:
• Typical qualifications would include a Bachelor’s degree/equivalent experience
• Proven ability to build and lead a team to deliver outstanding service
• Proven ability to maintain excellent relationships at all levels of the organisation
• Ability to use data and analytics to drive organizational improvement
• Proven track record in developing people and seek out continuous improvement opportunities
• Ability to ensure that deadlines are appropriately planned for and met, particularly in a pressurised and deadline driven environment
• Ability to deal with and analyse problems and queries
• Sound judgmental skills to identify and resolve challenges and issues
• Ability to make considered decisions that protect and enhance HSBC’s values, reputation, and commercial interests
• Strong functional and technical knowledge of HR, specifically performance and reward, and HR Technologies
• Ability to communicate complex information in a succinct and credible manner, both orally and written, directly with Senior Management
• Excellent excel skills (or equivalent data management tools such as R or SQL) and ability to deal with and analyse large data including collation of data from various internal stakeholders to produce final reports for management
• Experience of running a shared service operations team preferrable
