Job Description
VTS Operators are responsible for supporting the Duty Assistant Harbour Master in the operation of the Vessel Traffic System to ensure the safety and efficiency of all shipping movements at the Port of Grangemouth.
This is a shore-based operation with working hours that allow for long periods of rostered time off between shift cycles, as well as a competitive salary.
The team are also open to considering candidates who would like to work on a part-time basis.
VTS Operators must have excellent communication, IT and planning skills and a good appreciation of the health and safety standards within a port environment.
The role requires knowledge of port-related marine matters, including the Port Marine Safety Code, Pilotage and Towage operations.
A full UK driving licence is also required.
VTS Operators work a 12-hour shift system covering 24 hours/365 days per year.
