Responsibilities
clerk is responsible for the organization, processing and documentation of goods within a warehouse or distribution center
They play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the supply chain and maintaining an organized and safe working environment
The specific duties and responsibilities of a warehouse clerk may vary depending on the size and nature of the warehouse facility, but generally include the following:
Labeling and processing: Inputting shipments into UPS and FedEx website and applying labels and other documents to packages in a timely manner for daily pickups
Collaborating with shipping personnel to ensure fast and accurate order processing
Truck Dispatch: Booking larger shipments with nominated carriers and ensuring all labels and bill of lading documents are correct and organized
Capturing and reporting costs
Driver processing: Greeting drivers and ensuring their ID and paperwork is correct and accurate
Following all US Customs and TSA regulations in regards to driver process
Documentation and Record-Keeping: Ensuring accurate documentation of all warehouse activities, including receiving, shipping, inventory movements, and product returns
Recording relevant information in computerized systems or manual logs as required
Basic Order Fulfillment: Picking, packing, scanning and preparing orders for shipment based on customer requirements when personal are out or unavailable
Ensuring that items are correctly labeled, packaged, and staged for delivery
Safety and Compliance: Adhering to all safety guidelines and regulations to minimize workplace hazards
Following proper handling procedures for hazardous materials, if applicable
Participating in safety training programs and reporting any safety concerns or incidents
Teamwork and Communication: Collaborating with coworkers and supervisors to achieve common goals and meet operational targets
Effectively communicating any issues, delays, or discrepancies to appropriate personnel
