Three years experience performing logistics in a warehouse environment, and driving a heavy-duty truck and forklift,

Certifications

Forklift Certification (or ability to obtain within established timeframe)
Ability to meet attendance requirements
Ability to read, write and communicates the English language effectively
Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing and some climbing
Ability to drive a heavy-duty truck
Duties require frequent periods of physical mobility including but not limited to standing, walking, climbing, bending, squatting, and lifting
Extensive amount of physical effort required associated with lifting, moving, and carrying heavy objects (more than 50 lbs.) frequently

Responsibilities
Coordinates pick-up, storage and distribution for the warehouse; ensures merchandise, donations, and supplies are received, sorted, and distributed in an efficient manner; takes precautions to secure warehouse contents against loss; monitors inventory on hand; reviews distribution documents; coordinates maintenance of vehicle fleet; helps coordinate the work performed by employees, beneficiaries, and/or community service workers in the warehouse and assists when necessary

Warehouse Coordination Responsibilities (60%)
Monitors the arrival and distribution of all donations ensuring that items reach the appropriate destination in a timely manner
Ensures that the warehouse is clean, properly maintained, and secured at all times
Contacts individuals and arranges for pick-ups related to food drives, clothing drives, etc
Maintains inventory of items in storage; notifies designated purchaser of items needing to be ordered
Helps coordinate the packing of food bags for social services clients; monitors delivery of food bags to social services daily
Arranges for needed and authorized storage for Salvation Army units/groups
Ensures that all Center vehicles are maintained in proper working order, fueled, and ready for use
Serves as liaison to kitchen and Program Managers; provides and delivers items needed from the warehouse; alerts kitchen of any food donations for immediate use
Acts as liaison to external agencies, other Salvation Army locations, etc.; builds and maintains working relationships with them
Warehouse Implementation Responsibilities (40%)
Participates in warehouse activities including sorting, packing, loading, unloading, cleaning, food pantry, and driving as needed
Processes requests from the Corps administration for furnishings, equipment, and supplies that are available from warehouse inventory
Handles mail pick-up and delivery
Keeps the dock and storage area clean, organized, and in conformance with generally accepted standards for safety and fire codes
Prepares and maintains services records on vehicles, forklifts, and other related equipment
Assigns Center vehicles for use by program staff; maintains mileage logs and maintains control and accountability of gasoline credit cards which are designated for approved out-of-town trips
Performs other duties as assigned
Ability to sort items in accordance with established categories
Physical duties may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of sitting

Job Summary

Minimum Qualifications Required

Education and Experience:
