Job Description

Job description
Transpower owns and operates New Zealand's National Grid, delivering high-voltage electricity from generation to distribution businesses and large users nationwide. As a key player in the energy sector, we're driving electrification to achieve a sustainable, net carbon zero future.

About The Team

Our Procurement and Supply team ensures materials and services are available to support the maintenance and development of the National Grid. The Warehouse team is at the heart of this effort, managing inventory, logistics, and compliance across three locations. Through strong teamwork and efficient processes, we help our teams deliver on their goals.

About The Opportunity

In this hands-on role, the Warehouse Operations Specialist will support the Logistics Manager and Warehouse Supervisors in improving warehouse processes. You'll play a key part in driving continuous improvement across operations, with a focus on developing staff and adapting to the needs of the wider team.

Additionally, you'll work directly with Warehouse Supervisors to manage and oversee day-to-day activities, ensuring efficiency and promoting a collaborative environment across all sites.

Based in either Bunnythorpe or Otahuhu, you'll occasionally travel to our other warehouse locations (Otahuhu, Bunnythorpe and Addington) to maintain high standards and build strong relationships across the team.

Key responsibilities include:

Coordinating inventory and operational needs across various sites.
Developing and rolling out standard operating procedures.
Overseeing and reporting on facilities maintenance across our 3 warehouse sites.
Managing plant and equipment maintenance.
Driving continuous improvement initiatives and gaining team support.
Providing support to Warehouse Supervisors by stepping in when needed.

You'll work closely with various departments to ensure warehouse operations meet business needs while promoting innovation and efficiency.

About You

You're proactive, adaptable, and bring experience in supply chain operations, warehousing, and facilities management (at least 5 years +). Your organisational skills, ability to work with a team, and comfort with leading change will set you up for success in this role.

To thrive here, your CV and cover letter will demonstrate:

Proven experience in both warehouse operations and facilities management.
Proficiency in Maximo (or similar systems), MS Excel, and Word.
Experience in process management, change implementation, and stakeholder engagement.
A solid understanding of health and safety standards and compliance.
The ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.

Please ensure your application speaks to these requirements.

A qualification in Supply Chain Management, Business Operations, or Lean Six Sigma (or similar) is beneficial but not essential.
