Job Overview
The Food Service Worker is responsible for assisting the manager in food preparation, maintaining cash receipts and meal records, and adhering to high standards of quality in food production, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
Understand what constitutes a meal
Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
Timely preparation of various food items, beverages, and garnishments to ensure customer satisfaction and presentation
Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, cooking and serving equipment
Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, ensuring a balanced and safe environment
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas
Perform other duties as assigned, including tasks in other areas of the kitchen
Requirements
Food Service Certificate (as required)
Sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure
