Qualifications
4 plus years of logistics experience in a warehousing environment and 1 year of supervisory experience
Knowledge of Logistics functions
Knowledge of financial or cost analysis and measurements of logistics
Experience with industrial safety practices and procedures
Knowledge and experience in vendor pick-ups, stock replenishment; communication skills; inventory control; material, stock handling, shipping and receiving; safety, products and governmental compliance
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite Software and relevant tools/technology to improve logistics performance
Responsibilities
This Warehouse Supervisor will work closely with the entire warehouse to ensure quality control, productivity, and top notch safety standards
Results focused with ability to motivate people to get the job completed in a safe and timely manner
Supervises the activities of receiving, storage and shipping to ensure error free order fulfillment, optimized fleet/network management, aggressive inventory control, superior customer service and efficient facility utilization
Included in these activities are inventory control, warehousing, transportation, logistics planning, order processing and customer service
Resolves quality, service and cost issues
Leads local team - coaches and evaluates performance
Ensures direct reports obtain accurate training and development opportunities to enhance performance, development, and contributions to the company
Assists in driving the safety program for this location
Drives the Safety program down to all of the associates
Supervises relevant OSHA, federal, state, local and facility safety requirements
Drives and leads continuous improvement of the delivery and material handling processes
Ownership of making BlueLinx better
Assists team in improving inventory accuracy through tight process control and cycle counting
Also responsible for oversight of on-hand inventory levels along with damage and claims
Monitors and assists in the maintenance of fixed assets (facility, forklifts, and fleet)
Works with outside maintenance vendors for completing preventative and unprepared repairs
Assists in developing site logistics budget with a focus on continuously improving year-over-year performance against metrics
Holds direct reports accountable for individual and team performance
Addresses performance issues appropriately and timely
