Fresh Meats is a leading supplier of meat, seafood and cooked products to wholesale clients throughout Queensland, and we also have a retail store in Maroochydore, the largest on the Sunshine Coast.
This individual is physically fit, hands-on and works well independently to see the job through to completion. You have initiative to plan ahead, are organised and systematic, work collaboratively with others to achieve the shared company goals and have the drive and determination to close out.
Shift is either 5am - 2pm OR 2pm - 12 midnight. Mon-Fri. This is a full time position located in Palmwoods and in a chiller/freezer environment. Forklift licence is preferred.
Role and Responsibilities
The main activities include, but are not limited to:
Pick orders accurately and efficiently for customers and production teams
Check e-mails, use touchscreen devices
Communicate proactively with production, sales, drivers, packing team, etc. to ensure jobs get completed
Organise stock and account for accuracy
Maintain order and cleanliness of warehouse and systems
Complete all required training and proactively seek refresher training if needed
Participate in performance feedback processes and identify opportunities for further development
Contribute to workplace and process improvements
Comply with company policies and procedures, including WHS, QA and HACCP
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Previous experience with warehouse and logistics is preferred. The right candidate:
has the willingness and stamina for physical workload
Is capable of moving heavy pallets with a pallet jack
Has experience with walk behind forklift
Feels comfortable with changes of demand and can pivot as needed
Is proactive in finding solutions to always close out and finish the job
Has basic IT literacy (email, touchpad devices) and an openness to learn new programs
Is safety focused
Pay rate for workers 19 years old and under may be different to the above - it will be according to the Meat Industry Award and experience level
