Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Waste Contamination Officer to join our team to promote effective waste practices and ensure compliance with waste management policies. This role is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail and strong communication skills, who can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct bin inspections, tagging, and educate the public on proper waste disposal practices.
Accurately record and analyse inspection data to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
Prepare and submit monthly reports on field findings and trends.
Utilise onboard camera systems to investigate incidents and ensure proper waste management.
Liaise with senior management to address ad hoc requirements and concerns.
Develop and create educational materials for the council, including bin tags, signage, and bin stickers.
Plan and manage waste related projects, ensuring they align with council goals and regulations.
Uphold and enforce Work Health and Safety practices to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements:

Proven experience in waste management, environmental science, or a related field.
Hold a Class C Drivers License.
Excellent communication skills and experience in community engagement.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Familiarity with Work Health and Safety regulations and practices.
Proficiency in using onboard camera systems and other technological tools for data collection and incident investigation.

Early start times: Monday to Thursday, 6:00am - 3:00pm, with an early finish time on Fridays.
