Job description
Spreetail propels brands to increase their ecommerce market share across the globe while improving their operational costs. Learn how we are building one of the fastest-growing ecommerce companies in history: www.spreetail.com.
As a Principal Software Engineer, you’ll lead a cross-functional team to build and scale Spreetail’s Customer Experience offerings to improve customer retention, decrease various leakages in returns/refunds, and increase automation of very manual processes. You’ll influence product, strategy, and tech direction, and collaborate with executive stakeholders in Merchandising, Supply Chain, Brand Management, and Customer Experience.
How you will achieve success:
• Build and lead a high-velocity engineering team that owns P&L outcomes.
• Hire and mentor younger engineers, scaling capability across CE tech.
• Deliver AI/NLP solutions (e.g., summarizing multi-thread email threads, classifying tickets) and partner with CE leadership to cut associate handling time by half or more.
• Own returns process automation (triggering WH actions, partial refunds, replacement flows) and scale prototypes into production-ready systems using automation tools (including low-code solutions).
• Be accountable for $X–$XXM GMV or EBITDA outcomes.
What experiences will help you in this role:
• 8+ years of engineering experience with at least 2 years in an engineering leadership capacity.
• Strong backend/systems background and full-stack experience (Python, React, Django frameworks).
• Applied NLP experience preferred.
• Experience with CRM (Zendesk, Salesforce) or B2C/eCommerce helpful.
• Comfortable with fast ramp-up, ambiguity, and full ownership of outcomes.
This is a remote position and requires candidates to have an available work-from-home setup
Desktop/Laptop system requirements:
• 4th generation or higher, at least Intel i3 or equivalent processor;
• at least 4GB RAM;
• Windows 10 and above or MAC OSX operating system
• You are required to provide your own dual monitors
A strong and stable internet connection (A DSL, cable or fiber wired internet service with 10 Mbps plan or higher for primary connection)
