Position Overview:
We’re seeking a full-time Web Designer to join our creative team at our San Francisco headquarters in the vibrant Mission District. This role will play a key part in our digital presence—supporting both property-specific marketing and broader brand initiatives.
The Web Designer will be responsible for building and maintaining custom listing websites using Squarespace, managing domains through GoDaddy, and assisting with ongoing updates to the Vanguard Properties corporate website in collaboration with our external web development team.
This is a client-facing role that involves direct communication with our real estate agents and internal teams. The ideal candidate will bring strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a customer-service attitude to ensure smooth coordination and successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and maintain custom listing websites on Squarespace using existing templates
Proactively suggest design and functionality improvements to existing templates
Manage and organize domains via GoDaddy
Coordinate with billing to track and report on listing website activity and charges
Collaborate with 3rd party developers to support updates to the Vanguard Properties company website
Communicate directly with agents and team members to gather content, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely site launches
Apply best practices for SEO across all digital content
Assist in ensuring a consistent and high-quality user experience across all web touchpoints
Perform regular QA to ensure mobile responsiveness and browser compatibility
Stay up-to-date with web and design trends relevant to real estate marketing
Qualifications:
Proficiency with Squarespace (experience with custom CSS/HTML within the platform a plus)
Familiarity with domain management (GoDaddy or similar platforms)
Working knowledge of SEO principles and implementation
Strong visual design sensibility and attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work directly with clients (real estate agents) with professionalism, clarity, and patience
Organized, responsive, and comfortable managing multiple projects at once
Experience with website analytics tools a plus (Google Analytics, Squarespace Metrics)
Real estate industry experience is a plus, but not required
Ability to curate photos thoughtfully and adhere to comprehensive brand guidelines
Experience with Figma for prototyping new design ideas
