Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Web Developer who will be responsible for developing and/or designing websites for our client. In this role, you will be responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including creating WordPress themes and plugins. We expect you to have a strong understanding of the latest industry trends and content management systems.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and design websites using WordPress, PHP, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
• Modify and enhance existing websites according to client specifications
• Create and implement custom themes and plugins for WordPress
• Optimize websites for speed, usability, and scalability
• Perform quality assurance and conduct cross-browser testing
• Collaborate with designers, content creators, and marketing teams to ensure website functionality
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends and apply them into operations and activities
• Work closely with IT professionals, graphic designers, and project managers
Skills and Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 2-10 years of experience in web development and design
• Proficient with WordPress, PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery
• Experience with responsive and adaptive design
• Understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that the application will adhere to them
• Strong understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions, and standards
• Experience with server-side programming languages such as Python, Ruby, or PHP is a plus
• Knowledge of image authoring tools, ability to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image
• Familiarity with code versioning tools such as Git
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Good understanding of website architecture and aesthetics
Additional Preferred Skills:
• Experience with MVC frameworks (e.g., Laravel, Symfony)
• Familiarity with JavaScript build tools like webpack, gulp, etc.
• Experience with GraphQL and/or RESTful APIs
• Familiarity with UI/UX design
