Holidays are special; our family business helps people celebrate and treasure this time with an incredible choice of locally branded jewellery. We're the world's biggest pearl retailer, operating four brands from over twenty stores in holiday destinations across the UK and Spain.
We've developed a strong online presence through our websites, which encourage people to visit our stores as well as purchase our jewellery online.
We're looking for someone with a broad range of experience in web development and IT to join our IT team as Web Developer & IT Support Assistant.
About the Role:
To build and maintain the core structure of our company websites and provide support, administration, and maintenance of back-office IT and point of sale systems across the FS Group.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain websites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and other web technologies.
• Collaborate with designers to implement visually appealing and functional websites.
• Manage, maintain, and secure our websites.
• Evaluate website performance, speed, and scalability.
• Create code, design databases, integrate APIs, and ensure website functionality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve website issues and bugs.
• Provide general IT support to staff, including hardware and software troubleshooting.
• Maintain company IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and security systems.
• Assist with setting up and configuring new hardware and software.
• Offer technical support to users both locally and remotely, recording outcomes to a help desk system.
• Support the IT Manager with monitoring, development, and testing of IT systems.
• Database administration.
Requirements:
• Proven experience as a web developer or similar role.
• Proficiency in front-end and back-end development languages and frameworks (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript etc.)
• Windows desktop administration.
Desirable Skills:
• Windows server administration and SQL server administration (Microsoft SQL).
• Experience with Microsoft 365.
• Networking experience (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs).
Schedule: 5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (08:30-16:00), with a half-hour paid lunch break.
Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience.
