Position Title: Spanish Teacher
Programmes: IB PYP, MYP & DP
Location: Ecole Mondiale World School, Mumbai
Reporting to: Programme Coordinators / Head of School
Expectations
As an educator in a K–12 international school environment, the Spanish Teacher is expected to:
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to the mission, vision, philosophy, and values of Ecole Mondiale World School.
• Establish and maintain a positive, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for students.
• Possess a thorough understanding of the Spanish language, as well as the IB programme requirements (PYP, MYP & DP).
• Apply a variety of instructional and assessment strategies suited to diverse learning needs and styles.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to team objectives.
• Show cultural sensitivity and respect for the school’s host country, India, and its diverse community.
• Participate actively in school life beyond classroom teaching.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, maintaining confidentiality as appropriate.
• Engage in continuous professional development and remain receptive to feedback and educational research.
• Adhere to all school policies as outlined in the Faculty Handbook, employment contract, and other official documents.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all students under their care.
• Develop and deliver curriculum-aligned lesson plans in accordance with IB guidelines and school objectives.
• Contribute to the development and continuous review of the school’s written, taught, and assessed curriculum.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and prepare academic reports as required.
• Be punctual and present for all classes, meetings, and school events as per contractual obligations.
• Maintain open and effective communication with students’ parents/guardians regarding academic and behavioral progress.
• Create and sustain a well-organized, engaging, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Support the school’s student behavior management and discipline procedures.
• Participate in the professional appraisal and growth process.
• Undertake additional supervisory or co-curricular responsibilities as assigned by the school administration.
Candidate Requirements
• Minimum 3 years of experience teaching Spanish in an international school setting, preferably within the IB framework (PYP, MYP, and DP).
• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Spanish or a related field; teaching certification preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• A passion for language teaching and intercultural understanding.
• Experience in curriculum planning and assessment within the IB continuum is highly desirable.
