Job Description
Shape how the Banyule community experiences Council online. As Website Content Lead, you’ll guide the design, delivery, and governance of web content and user experience, making Council’s website clearer, more accessible and more useful for the community. Working closely with the Digital Experience Lead, you’ll lead a small team, strengthen content capability and standards, and drive improvements that make it easier for people to access information, services and opportunities to participate.
In this role, you will:
Lead the direction, creation and governance of website content, ensuring it is accurate, current, accessible and aligned with Council’s tone, brand and content standards.
Shape information architecture, content hierarchy and page-level UX to improve findability, usability and task completion across Council’s digital channels.
Provide expert advice, training and guidance on content design, accessibility and writing for the web, building capability across the organisation.
Use research, user testing and analytics to inform content improvements and strengthen the online experience for the community.
Lead and support 1 team member to jointly improve and work on website content and communication projects, ensuring the team’s work is well managed, aligned with strategic priorities and delivered to a high standard.
What you'll bring/what we are looking for
We’re looking for a skilled digital/website content professional who can combine strategic thinking with hands-on leadership to improve how the community experiences Council online. You’ll bring deep expertise in web content and page-level user experience, along with the ability to set standards, guide others and use evidence to drive continuous improvement. This role will suit someone who is confident in influencing stakeholders, leading a small team, and delivering content that is clear, accessible, and genuinely user centred.
You’ll have:
recognised tertiary qualification in public relations, communications, journalism or substantial equivalent experience in digital/website content and communications.
Demonstrated expertise in website content design, page-level user experience, content standards and governance.
Strong understanding of digital accessibility principles, with the ability to apply them in practical, user-focused ways.
Experience using user research, testing and analytics to improve content performance and the online experience.
Strong leadership, communication and project management skills, with the ability to motivate others, influence stakeholders and deliver high-quality outcomes.

Salary range $109,953.82 to $122,671.33 per annum plus super (dependent on experience).
26 weeks of paid parental leave - primary carer/4 weeks of paid parental leave - partner
