Job Description
We are looking for an experienced web developer to migrate our existing website from Ruby on Rails to WordPress. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in both platforms and a proven track record of successful website migrations.
This project involves:
Content Migration
Exporting all website content, including pages, posts, images, and other media, from the current Ruby on Rails site.
Importing content into WordPress while maintaining proper structure, formatting, and SEO metadata.
Recreating Features
Rebuilding custom functionalities (if any) from Rails in WordPress using plugins, themes, or custom coding.
Ensuring all forms, APIs, and interactive features are fully functional.
Design and Layout
Replicating or improving the design of the existing website within WordPress.
Ensuring a responsive and mobile-friendly layout.
URL Redirects and SEO
Setting up 301 redirects for all old URLs to preserve SEO rankings.
Configuring SEO plugins and settings.
Testing and Go-Live
Conducting thorough testing to ensure all features work properly.
Assisting with the DNS update and making the WordPress site live.
