HEB Construction is a dynamic and innovative leader in the construction of New Zealand's Infrastructure. We are involved with a variety of projects from road construction and maintenance through to earthworks, drainage, marine works, and major projects of national significance.
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Welder to join our team, supporting major infrastructure works on our Westport Bridge project. This role will assist with all site welding requirements, including piling gates, casing splicing, and structural repairs.
This is a full‑time role (40 hours per week) with a pay range of $30–$35 per hour, with overtime (after 40 hours) paid at time and a half.
About You
You’ll bring:
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a certified welder in construction, civil, or heavy engineering environments.
Class 1 Driver’s Licence
Strong understanding of welding procedures, quality standards, and safe work practices
Physically fit and capable of performing manual labour
A proactive, reliable, ‘can‑do’ attitude
Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
Key Responsibilities
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
Carry out welding for piling gates, casing splicing, and structural repairs
Ensure all welding work meets project specifications
Inspect welds, identify defects, and complete corrective repairs
Keep accurate records of welding activities and materials used
Support other site tasks such as piling and rigging when required
