Welding Technician I

Join our dynamic team as a Welding Technician I, where you will play a vital role in operating and setting up welding equipment and atmospheric control systems. You will engage in complex welding operations on various metals and alloys, ensuring high standards for strength, pressure, and aesthetics in our products.

As a Welding Technician I, your responsibilities will include:
• Assembling and tacking various complicated subassemblies and assemblies using precise tools such as B/Ms, clamps, and templates.
• Fitting parts accurately using torch or grinding equipment to ensure proper alignment.
• Setting up oxyacetylene torch pressure and selecting the appropriate electrodes, tips, and welding rods or wire.
• Modulating gas for atmospheric control and adjusting electrical currents for effective metal fusion.
• Insuring gasket surfaces are straightened and grinding excess weld from finished products.
• Laying out and securing heavy work assemblies while regulating current for metals fusion.
• Performing Mig/Tig welding as required and conducting preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Bringing personal tools as needed and maintaining a safe and organized workspace.
• Utilizing resources efficiently to achieve effective job results.
• Contributing to team success by mentoring others in welding tasks when necessary.
• Inspecting finished work to ensure it meets established quality standards.
• Documenting actions through production and quality forms.
• Communicating effectively with team members at all levels.

We are seeking candidates who:
• Possess a High School diploma, GED, or equivalent professional experience.
• Have at least one year of formal welding training or equivalent experience (preferred).
• Bring 0-1 years of experience in a manufacturing setting (preferred).
• Are skilled in safely using small hand and power tools, measuring devices, air tools, and welding apparatus.
• Can read and interpret drawings and bills of material.
• Have basic computer proficiency.
• Can perform basic Mig and Tig welding operations.

Physical demands of the job include:
• Medium to heavy physical demand level as classified by the US Department of Labor.
• Lifting demands include lifting up to 75 pounds occasionally with assistance and 40 pounds frequently.
• Work involves continuous standing and walking, along with frequent bending, stooping, and lifting.
• Frequent use of gripping and manipulation with hands, and variable use of hand/power tools.
• Must be medically cleared to wear PAPR or SAR welding respirator helmet.
