Job Description
This is a full-time, permanent position with flexibility to work from home between service times. You’ll begin with a comprehensive induction program, complete with support from your Director of Service, Regional Manager and to ensure you’re set up for success. Please note, this is a hands on role where you will be on the floor for service times.
Service Location: Newport VIC, 3015
You’ll work across split shifts, Monday to Friday:
Before school care: 6.30am-8.45am
After school care: 2.15pm-6pm
Admin: 8
Total: 38 Hours
As the Wellbeing and Inclusion Officer, you’ll:
Assist on the floor with Inclusion and Behaviour management practices, supporting the educators with any behaviour guidance strategies and supporting children with emotional regulation so they can participate fully in the TeamKids program
Communicating with families about their individual children's behaviour and inclusion needs when required.
Developing Individual Support Plans in collaboration with your Director of Service and Regional Manager and mentoring the educator team to implement these to ensure a consistent approach to behaviour guidance.
Developing meaningful goals and practical strategies utilising TeamKids and schools' positive behaviour support framework, and with a commitment to eliminate restrictive practices
Responsible for the development of funding through the ISP program for your service working closely with the Victorian Inclusion Agency and TeamKids Inclusion Team.
Guiding the Educator Team at your service in in inclusive practices to support their capacity and confidence to support children who are neurodivergent; display disruptive behaviours or have a trauma background.
Working with families, school well-being teams and therapist to implement consistent strategies to support children who are neurodivergent or have a trauma background access our programs
Attending professional development and training to develop your own knowledge and capacity of inclusive practices to assist children who require support to participate in our programs
Creating resources to promote the inclusion of all children
Assisting in the development of Individual Support Plans to ensure consistent approaches to behaviour guidance
Assisting with developing funding cases
Developing resources to promote inclusion of all children
The Successful Candidate:
✅You’re familiar with positive behaviour support frameworks and practices.
✅You’re compassionate, have a positive mindset, solution-focused, and thrive in a collaborative environment.
✅You have experience working with individuals with complex behaviours and can stay calm in challenging situations.
✅You have excellent communication skills and can work effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
✅NDIS experience is desired but not necessary.
✅A big kid at heart who thrives in a lively, fast-paced environment
✅A natural leader with great communication skills – from chatting with kids to meeting with principals
✅Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude
✅Passionate about ensuring that all children are respected, heard and included.
