Work along side individuals and whānau as an advocate to identify their goals and support them to achieve their aspirations.
We are seeking a passionate Whānau Ora navigator to join our team. To support whānau to improve their tino rangatiratanga, ensuring that Tautoko is delivered in a way that respects and embraces Te Aō Māori.
Your role will be to support whānau to be self-sufficient under the 7 pou of Whānau ora:
Pou Tahi - Whānau in Te Waipounamu are self-managing.
Pou Rua - Whānau in Te Waipounamu living healthy lifestyles.
Pou Toru - Whānau in Te Waipounamu are participating fully in society.
Pou Whā - Whānau in Te Waipounamu are confidently participating in Te Ao Māori.
Pou Rima - Whānau in Te Waipounamu are economically secure and successfully involved in wealth creation.
Pou Ono - Whānau in Te Waipounamu are cohesive, resilient, and nurturing.
Pou Whitu - Whānau in Te Waipounamu are responsible stewards of their living and natural environment.
Key skills:
We are looking for te following skills
Able to build (or have existing) strong agency connections that will assist clients in navigating a range of services in our community.
Excellent communication skills
Able to develop strong relationships with whānau
Able to advocate on behalf of whānau to ensure that they are heard
Provide a culturally safe and encouraging service that promotes independence and resilience so that they can become leaders in their own journey.
Flexibility to evaluate and adapt to meet evolving needs of whānau
Thorough understanding of Te Aō Māori, and tikanga. Te Reo is an advantage
Previous experience in health or social service, or lived experience is preferred
