Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and commission in-building wireless systems, including DAS, small cells, and public safety radio systems.
Perform RF testing, troubleshooting, and optimization to ensure optimal signal coverage and quality.
Conduct site surveys using tools like spectrum analyzers and signal meters.
Terminate and test coaxial, fiber optic, and ethernet cables.
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other technicians to complete installations on time.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements.
Document installations, test results, and maintenance activities accurately.
Respond to service calls and perform system troubleshooting and repairs as needed.
Requirements:
Experience: 1-3+ years in wireless telecommunications, RF, or related field.
Technical Skills: Knowledge of DAS, small cell, and public safety radio systems. Experience with RF test equipment (spectrum analyzers, PIM testers, OTDR, signal meters, etc.). Ability to terminate, splice, and test fiber and coaxial cables. Familiarity with networking concepts (IP addressing, routers, switches) is a plus.
Certifications (preferred but not required): iBwave, JMA, Corning, CommScope, OSHA 10/30, FCC GROL, or other relevant industry certifications.
Physical Requirements: Ability to work at heights, lift up to 50 lbs, and travel as needed.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification or associate degree in a related field is a plus).
Other: Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background and drug tests.
