Job Summary
We are seeking a creative and innovative Fashion Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fashion and a strong understanding of current trends, fabrics, and design techniques. This role involves conceptualizing and creating unique clothing designs that align with our brand vision while ensuring high-quality standards. The Fashion Designer will collaborate closely with the production team to bring designs from concept to reality.
What We Are Looking For
Develop original clothing designs through sketches and digital illustrations.
Create technical specifications and detailed patterns for garment production.
Conduct research on fashion trends, fabrics, and materials to inform design choices.
Collaborate with other designers and departments to ensure cohesive product lines.
Present design concepts and incorporate feedback into final designs.
Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in fashion design.
Participate in fittings and make adjustments as necessary based on fit and style.
Able to sketch digitally and freehand
Excellent communication skills
Excellent organisation and admin skills
Must have a great eye and an excellent sense of style and colour
Trendsetter
Identify opportunities and think outside of the box
Your designs demonstrate a love for structure, detail and maximalism
Experience
Must be Toronto-based and able to commute to our Etobicoke Office
Must have an excellent portfolio. Applications without a portfolio will not be accepted
Strong portfolio showcasing previous work in fashion design is essential.
Must write a cover letter
Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud – specifically Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator
Proven understanding of trend and colour forecasting
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
A degree in Fashion Design or a related discipline is preferred but not required.
