Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Work, Health and Safety (WHS) Consultant to work collaboratively with operational teams to implement and monitor our work, health and safety management system. This includes supporting policies, training and practices that address Bethanie’s priority WHS hazards and risks, to meet compliance obligations and maintain ISO45001 certification.
Permanent role, working full-time hours (note 0.8 or 0.+ FTE also considered)
Flexible working arrangements supported, including opportunity to work from home / remotely
Based at our Perth CBD office with the requirement to travel regularly to our sites located from Yanchep to Dalyellup in the south-west
About the role:
Reporting to the Senior WHS Consultant, and working closely with our WHS team, you will be responsible for duties including:
Providing WHS subject matter expertise for all aspects of organisational safety including high risk tasks
Leading site WHS meetings with managers and Health and Safety Rep (HSRs) on a bi-monthly basis across all allocated sites
Support and develop HSRs to ensure effective consultation, engagement and organisational benefits through their effective engagement
Undertaking incident investigations for notifiable and high-risk incidents in a consultative manner, with a focus on system failures and practicable recommendations
Responsibility for WHS Committee agenda, meeting preparation and action items
Your skills, knowledge and experience:
You are a practical thinker with the ability to provide sound advice, analyse risks, make good judgements, and solve problems. You naturally develop effective working relationships by building credibility, respect and rapport with your stakeholders. You will also bring the following:
Relevant qualifications
Prior experience in a WHS advisory role with a demonstrated ability to provide an effective consulting service to HSRs, management, operational management and WHS Committees
Excellent negotiation, influencing and persuasion skills - able to effectively and creatively challenge people, situations and current thinking
Ability to recognise trends and develop recommendations, plans and solutions that meet organisational needs
Clear, concise and influential verbal and written communication skills
Current WA driver’s licence
