Job Summary
The Work Study Student will support the Department of Communication Arts as a Lab Assistant on the Statesboro Campus beginning Spring 2026.

Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.

Responsibilities
Assists Multimedia Film and Production and Multimedia Journalism faculty and students with checking out and checking in equipment, such as cameras, lights, extension cords, shades, and sound equipment
Verifies that all equipment returned by faculty and students is in its original working order
Answers questions from faculty and students
Assists with safety issues
Maintains the cleanliness of equipment
Shift Specifics

Up to 15 hours per week
Flexible with schedule of availability
Shifts available Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements

Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.
Other Required Qualifications

Must be Federal Work eligible.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Education

Multimedia Film and Production or Multimedia Journalism major
Preferred Experience

Customer Service experience
Experience multitasking and supporting various constituencies
Proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
Experience with camera, sound, lighting and video equipment
Proposed Salary
$12.00 per hour

This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
