Animal Referral Hospital Canberra is seeking an organised, proactive and motivated Workforce & Rostering Coordinator to support the staffing, rostering and day-to-day operational coordination of one of the region’s busiest specialist and emergency veterinary hospitals.
ARH Canberra provides 24/7 emergency and specialist veterinary care across emergency, medicine, surgery and critical care. Our hospital is supported by a highly skilled team of specialists, emergency veterinarians, nurses and support staff committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
This role plays a key part in ensuring the hospital is appropriately staffed, rosters are sustainable, and teams are supported so the hospital runs smoothly.
About the Role
The Workforce & Rostering Coordinator is responsible for rostering, staffing coordination and operational support across the hospital. This role works closely with the Business Manager, Nursing Manager, department leads and reception team to ensure appropriate staffing coverage, sustainable rosters and smooth day-to-day operations.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys organisation, logistics, problem solving and working with people in a fast-paced environment.
The role will initially focus on rostering and workforce coordination, with the opportunity to grow into a broader operations role over time.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and maintain staff rosters across clinical and support teams
Coordinate leave, shift swaps and staffing coverage
Support recruitment coordination and onboarding
Assist with workforce planning and staffing sustainability
Support day-to-day hospital operations and workflow
Help resolve roster or staffing issues
Assist with operational improvements, projects and training coordination
Work across clinical, nursing, reception and leadership teams to support hospital operations
About You

You may have experience in healthcare, veterinary, administration, rostering, hospitality, logistics, scheduling or operations.

Initially the role will likely be full time while rostering and workforce systems are stabilised.
Over time, the role may transition to part time or flexible hours once systems and processes are established.
