Details: This position directly supervises General Service Officer field teams. These field teams undertake works across The Parks and Conservation Service (PCS) estate reserves and unleased territory land. These duties include bushfire fuel reduction, slashing and grazing management, track and trail maintenance, fencing, visitor infrastructure maintenance and minor construction. Land management including planting, weed and pest animal control and erosion control works.

Eligibility/Other requirements:
Mandatory:
Ability to undertake after hours duties and incident management duties, including participation in fire standby, fire suppression and fire training.
C class drivers’ licence, preferably with 4wd experience.
Preparedness to wear a uniform.
Currently have or be willing to obtain a Senior First Aid Certificate.
A current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 or a willingness to obtain, is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to: Apply for or renew a WWVP registration - Access Canberra.
Highly desirable:
Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining plant and machinery.
Class MR – Medium rigid vehicle licence with a manual transmission.
Tertiary qualifications in Conservation and Land Management or equivalent.
