Your new role
As the key leader on the afternoon shift, you will oversee daily workshop operations, support a team of technicians and ensure the efficient delivery of high‑quality servicing, repairs and maintenance across a diverse fleet of heavy diesel and specialised equipment. This is a hands‑on leadership role that requires strong technical expertise, proven team coordination and a commitment to maintaining a safe, productive workshop environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading, coordinating and supporting the afternoon workshop team
Overseeing servicing, repairs and maintenance on heavy diesel and specialised machinery
Completing advanced diagnostics and assisting with complex repairs
Ensuring accurate job cards, service documentation and quality assurance checks
Maintaining strict safety standards and a clean, well‑organised workshop
Working closely with management to meet operational targets and shift priorities
What you'll need to succeed
Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic (or equivalent)
Proven leadership experience within a workshop environment
Previous experience working on an afternoon or similar shift
Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding skills
Ability to mentor and support apprentices and technicians
Excellent time management and organisational capability
Safety‑focused with a positive, team‑orientated attitude
Current driver’s licence
Desirable: Forklift licence
