Job requirements include a superior working knowledge of US English, broad breadth of technical knowledge including virtualization, containerization, cloud technologies and HPE platform hardware and software, and critical understanding of HPE publishing processes, procedures and portals.
Responsibilities include:
Write new documents or update existing technical documents. Areas of focus include:
• Document consistency and effectiveness (e.g. document makes sense) Specified configurations are valid HPE Branding and publishing readiness which includes: Correct use of product names Formatting is correct Spelling and grammar are correct Legal items are specified correctly Ability to work with document authors (engineers), suggesting corrections and improvements Facilitation of the publication of documents Prioritization of tasks to optimize throughput and ensure the high priority documents are completed on time. Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science , Technical Writing or equivalent work experience
• 4+ years' relevant experience Knowledge and Skills:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English.
• Knowledge of server, storage, networking, software, and architecture concepts.
• Ability to read detailed product specifications and determine if a configuration is viable
• Ability to determine that a paper is logical and meets the intended purpose
• Ability to determine that a paper draws reasonable conclusions
• Able to prioritize work to meet deadlines
• Excellent attention to detail. To ensure the paper agrees with itself, this person must have an acute ability to effectively research technical detail (look up facts, and check consistency of technical data)
• Strong knowledge of MS Word, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, Adobe Acrobat
• Experience with document management systems and version control
• Familiarity with the following concepts: enterprise applications (e.g. SAP, Cloud), Virtualization, IT management software, scripting, and client/server software
• Must have ability to be a multi-tasker, and problem solver with high energy levels and strong organizational abilities
• Must be organized and attentive to details
• Ability to work a flexible schedule in a complex and diverse technical environment as a team member
• Tools: MS Office Tools, Adobe Framemaker, Adobe Captivate.
• Good working knowledge of markup languages like HTML, CSS and XML
