Job Description
We're looking for a talented and enthusiastic Associate Editor to join our fast-paced group. It is expected that the individual who fills this job will help with all parts of a fun first-grade classroom magazine. It is the Associate Editor's job to submit story ideas and write some of those tales, as well as assist in the creation of first-grade lesson plans. As a bonus, this employee is responsible for any administrative duties that may arise.

Qualifications:
• Creating a solid plan for each piece, including verifiable sources, background information and formatting requirements and due dates.
• With the purpose of identifying areas for improvement in our processes, we constantly monitor and evaluate the systems in our departments.
• Optimize your journals to give the best possible author experience and to optimize the engagement of the Editors in Chief and Editorial Board Members (EBM) on whom we rely.
• Keep track of your journal submission, publication, and transfer volume objectives as well as your target turnaround time goals for each year, as well.
• In the beginning, make sure advertisements meet internal brand standards and regulatory requirements. Then look at a wide range of marketing, scientific, and other evidence that backs up ads.
• Develop strong collaborative ties with colleagues in production, JEO, IT, and other departments to guarantee that any issues with your journal, most notably those faced by authors, editors, and peer reviewers, can be remedied quickly and efficiently.
• Interviews with chefs or home cooks, product or method recommendations, and other service-oriented content for periodicals.
• concepts for all media, including recipes and articles, that may be integrated into the brand's overall editorial strategy (digital, print, social, podcast, video, etc)
• Give well-written and well-spoken notes and practical, constructive advice when it comes to content that might not be appropriate for the air. This could include things like excessive violence or ******** language, imitable behavior, commercial product placement, or other visuals that might not be appropriate for the air.
• Make it easier for the editorial team, external resources, and other departments to collaborate on content generation and editorial direction.
Skills:
• Interpersonal skills and the ability to connect and work effectively with workers at all levels, as well as engage with a team, are required on a daily basis.
• Three to five years of experience working in the media, writing, or a related profession is preferable. Reporting and editing abilities are a must, along with a working grasp of SEO and the best practices for creating newsletters.
• A demonstrated capacity to successfully manage a large number of competing priorities and a large volume of time-sensitive work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• Ability to communicate well with staff from a variety of departments (Art, Photography, and Test Kitchen), at all levels of the organization, as well as with freelancers and other outside contributors
• Expertise and experience in online publishing, content management systems, and content creation tools such as Adobe Photoshop
