About the Role –Writer’s Room Manager


Park Hyatt Toronto is seeking a highly motivated and service-driven Lounge Manager to lead the operations of the Writer’s Room, our iconic rooftop lounge. This role plays a key part in upholding our commitment to Forbes 5-Star standards, delivering bespoke experiences in a refined and elegant setting.

As Lounge Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the lounge while supporting the broader Food & Beverage division. You will collaborate closely with the Restaurant Manager and other department leaders to ensure an exceptional standard of service, guest satisfaction, and colleague engagement.


Key Responsibilities

Drive beverage innovation and curation to maintain and improve the lounge’s ranking on Canada’s Top 50 Bars
Lead the overall operation and service delivery of the Writer’s Room Lounge, ensuring alignment with Forbes 5-Star service standards and Park Hyatt brand expectations.
Support other F&B outlets as needed to promote seamless coordination across departments.
Develop and implement short- and long-term strategic plans focused on guest experience, colleague development, and financial performance.
Recruit, train, and retain high-performing team members with a strong focus on luxury service culture, colleague engagement, and professional development.
Coach and mentor the team to consistently deliver anticipatory, intuitive, and emotionally engaging service.
Foster a work environment that reflects Park Hyatt's values of care, respect, and excellence.
Maintain deep knowledge of the beverage program, including wines, cocktails, spirits, and beer, and ensure that offerings remain innovative and elevated.
Oversee day-to-day floor operations, including service standards, table settings, ambiance, and presentation.
Ensure lounge cleanliness, music, lighting, and guest touchpoints are consistently up to luxury and brand standards.
Drive revenue growth through upselling, thoughtful pairings, and creative programming (e.g., tastings, mixology events, seasonal activations).
Maintain and restock wine fridges daily; manage inventory and par levels to support uninterrupted operations.
Collaborate with culinary and bar teams to plan seasonal menus and support special events or activations.
Coordinate holiday and promotional functions in line with brand tone and guest preferences.
Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and food handling regulations.
Attend leadership and operational meetings as required.
Act as a visible leader, engaging with guests on the floor to create meaningful and lasting connections.
Qualifications

Minimum 4 years of progressive leadership experience in luxury Food & Beverage, preferably in a hotel rooftop lounge or upscale bar setting.
Demonstrated understanding of Forbes 5-Star standards and the ability to train and lead teams to meet those expectations.
Must have Smart Serve and Food Handler Certification.
Strong knowledge of wine, spirits, mixology, and current beverage trends; WSET certification considered an asset.
Proven track record of developing, mentoring, and retaining high-performing teams.
Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
Tech-savvy with knowledge of POS systems (updating, menu creation) and general computer applications.
Highly detail-oriented, with a passion for excellence and luxury service delivery.
Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on innovation, quality, and financial responsibility.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
