Full job description
Canterbury BMW is owned by Autosports Group (ASG) which is Australia's largest prestige and luxury automotive retail group employing approximately 1800 people across 55+ dealerships nationally. This particular dealership is now seeking an experienced vehicle detailer/ yard hand.
This is a great opportunity for a motivated, professional and proactive individual to join the team.
Main Duties:
Performing thorough cleaning and detailing of vehicles, both interior and exterior
Inspecting vehicles for defects and reporting any issues to the supervisor.
Maintaining and organizing detailing equipment and supplies.
Ensuring a safe and clean working environment
Maintain the wash bay and detailing area in a clean and orderly way to maximise productivity and minimise health and safety risks.
Ensure all chemicals are stored and managed responsible.
Perform other tasks/duties requested/assigned by supervisors, department managers or directors from time to time.
Maintain the area around the dealership ensuring it is clean and tidy at all times.
Fit number plates to new and used vehicles.
Skills and experience
A basic knowledge of motor vehicles and maintenance procedures
A basic knowledge of techniques of paint and fabric preparation and maintenance
A high attention to detail
Time management skills
Confidence to report concerns or questions to managers as appropriate
Ability to multi skill and prioritise duties
A current driver's licence
Experience in a similar position in automotive industry (desirable)
Understanding of the typical business structures of the retail automotive industry an advantage
