The Role
We are seeking a Year 11 & 12 Economics Tutor with strong knowledge of the SACE curriculum.
This role is ideal for a qualified teacher or high-performing graduate in Economics/Commerce, who can confidently guide students through Stage 1 & Stage 2 Economics, with a focus on application, evaluation, and exam technique.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver structured, high-level tutoring aligned with SACE Stage 1 & 2 Economics
Teach core topics including:
Microeconomics & macroeconomics
Market structures, policy, and economic indicators
Data interpretation and economic reasoning
Develop students’ ability to:
Construct extended responses using economic terminology
Analyse case studies and real-world scenarios
Apply theory to SACE-style exam questions
Provide detailed, assessment-focused feedback
Support students with assignments, folios, and external exam preparation
Adapt lessons to individual student needs while maintaining academic rigour
Maintain concise progress notes and communicate with the academic team
Essential Requirements (Strict)
Degree in Economics, Commerce, Finance, or related field
Strong understanding of SACE Economics curriculum
Experience teaching or tutoring Year 11 & 12 Economics (or equivalent)
Ability to explain complex economic concepts clearly and effectively
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to deliver in-person sessions in Norwood, SA
Current Driver’s Licence and reliable transport
Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain
Highly Regarded
Qualified teacher (current or former)
Experience with SACE marking or moderation
Strong ATAR performance in Economics (if non-teacher applicant)
Experience supporting high-achieving students
