4x Ongoing, full time positions based in Melbourne CBD
Help contribute to the rehabilitation of individuals leading to greater community safety
Salary band of $94,591 - $106,401 plus superannuation plus yearly increases
The Youth Justice Service is responsible for supervision and case management of young people between 12 and 21 years of age who have committed offences and been made subject to supervised bail, supervised community orders, or youth parole.

About the role:

The Youth Justice Court Advice Service (YJCAS) provides advice to courts and others in criminal proceedings involving young people. The Youth Justice Court Advice worker forms part of the Youth Justice Court Advice Service (YJCAS) - representing Youth Justice, provide advice to the court and stakeholders, and delivering assessments and interventions when required.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing timely written and verbal advice to the Court, ensuring all advice is accurate and aligned with legislation and Youth Justice policy.
Supporting clients with complex needs by providing holistic and comprehensive services to increase their opportunities of enhanced quality of life, community inclusion and rehabilitative prospects. This includes, case management, undertaking complex assessments, writing reports, leading a care team, implementing and reviewing plans and goal setting, monitoring progress, advocacy, referrals and other activities as required.
Communicating respectfully with young people their families, clearly explaining court processes, legislation, departmental policies and procedures, using trauma-informed and culturally safe practices.
About you:

A relevant qualification in either social work, youth work, psychology, human services, criminology, or criminal justice (desirable).
Demonstrated case management work experience in a related field (desirable).
A full driver's licence is required due to the need to travel across the Division as required.
A current Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC) card is required and will need to be provided prior to commencement of employment by the applicant. Currency will need to be maintained by the employee for the period of employment.
