Are you passionate about supporting young people in Tasmania?

We are looking for someone who wants to make a difference in the lives of young people in Tasmania who are in contact with the Youth Justice system. In this role you will be providing 1:1 case management, therapeutic and mentoring support to vulnerable young people, as part of a committed and supportive team.

In this full-time, max term role (until June 30, 2026, with potential for extension), you’ll work as a part of our REBOOT Youth Justice program to help us create lasting change for children. We have multiple positions to fill, with the option to be based Hobart, Launceston or Devonport. We've advertised this role as full-time, but part-time will also be considered and all applications are encouraged.


You will make a difference by:

Engaging young people in activities promoting safety, protection and wellbeing and positive youth development, designed to encourage pro-social behaviour
Develop and maintain trusting relationships with clients and their families
Provide practical support, mentoring and advocacy for young people with complex needs
Work in collaboration with partners (government and non-government) towards common goals to meet the complex needs of clients
Maintain accurate case notes and records, and input data into internal and external online systems

This role requires:

Demonstrated skills and experience working with young people in contact with the justice system
An understanding of complex intergenerational trauma
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Sound time management and organizational skills, and ability to manage and plan own workload
Strong communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
